Akshay Kumar has expressed his concern over the health condition of his long-time co-star and friend, Rajesh Sharma. Rajesh Sharma was recently rushed to a private hospital after suffering an insect bite on a film set, leaving his well-wishers and colleagues from the film fraternity worried about his well-being.
Taking to his X account, Akshay posted a heartfelt note dedicated to his dear friend. Along with his emotional words, Akshay shared a picture of the two actors sharing a warm, light-hearted moment together on a film set. In his post, Akshay wrote, “Very concerned to hear about my dear friend Rajesh’s health condition after an insect bite while shooting. Hope Mahadev blesses him with fast and complete recovery. The unfortunate incident occurred on Wednesday when Rajesh was busy filming for his upcoming movie, Fauji. While working on the set, he suffered an insect bite that led to a sudden medical emergency. He was immediately taken to a private medical facility and is currently undergoing treatment at Manipal Hospital in Dhakuria, Kolkata.
According to sources, there has been some progress in his medical status, as his breathlessness is now under control and his blood sugar levels have also stabilised. Despite these positive signs of minor improvement, sources have indicated that Rajesh is still not entirely out of danger. He continues to remain under close medical observation. The attending doctors are expected to provide a clearer and more comprehensive assessment of his health condition soon, which will confirm when he can officially be declared out of danger.
Akshay Kumar and Rajesh Sharma share a long and successful professional relationship, having collaborated on many projects over the years. Their first collaboration was in director Neeraj Pandey’s 2013 hit heist thriller Special 26. After that project, the duo shared screen space in several other movies, including Toilet: Ek Prem Katha (2017), Laxmii (2020) and most recently in Priyadarshan’s horror-comedy Bhooth Bangla, which released earlier this year.
As the actor remains under observation at the hospital in Kolkata, fans and members of the film industry are joining Akshay Kumar in sending their thoughts and prayers, hoping for his complete and speedy recovery.
