Big Tigger is no longer facing criminal prosecution after months of legal speculation. The former Atlanta radio host, whose real name is Darian Morgan, was arrested back in June on battery and child cruelty charges tied to a domestic dispute with his estranged wife, Alicia Brown. However, court documents now confirm the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office has declined to move forward with the case.
According to WSB-TV Atlanta, the original arrest stemmed from an argument between Morgan and his wife, Alicia, back in May over text messages he’d received from a female coworker. Brown alleged that during the confrontation, Morgan used force to move her, causing her to stumble headfirst into an office door.
TMZ reported that Brown’s accusations went beyond the initial altercation. She claimed the injury left her needing stitches, and alleged that Big Tigger pressured her afterward to deny what happened, reportedly warning her that she would “lose everything” if she spoke out. Brown also revoked her access to the home’s Ring cameras and remote gate controls following the incident.
Big Tigger Maintains His Innocence
As BOSSIP reported, arrest warrants detailed a timeline of the May 9th altercation, alleging that the argument escalated after Morgan called his wife “psycho” during a dispute over old text messages. Brown told police that Morgan tackled her to the floor at one point, and later, during a separate moment in the altercation, allegedly shoved her from behind after she asked him to stop touching her, causing her to fall into a door and sustain a deep laceration over her eye. The warrants also noted that the couple’s 13-year-old son was home at the time and could allegedly hear the altercation unfold.
Brown was granted a temporary protective order in June requiring Morgan to stay 200 yards away from her and their children, along with temporary custody of the kids and exclusive use of the family home. Morgan was arrested on June 20 and released on a $10,000 bond shortly after.
From the beginning, Big Tigger firmly denied the allegations against him. In a statement posted to Instagram following his arrest, he wrote, “I unequivocally deny every allegation that has been made against me. For the past 30+ years, I have built my life around relationships and community. Those who know me know the man, father, husband, and friend I have been throughout my life.” He added that he had “complete confidence in the facts and in the legal process” and would continue cooperating with authorities.
The situation grew even more complicated when Brown herself was later arrested during a traffic stop on Interstate 85 near the South Carolina line, tied to kidnapping and custodial interference warrants connected to a 2019 missing persons case out of Baltimore. Brown has since filed a federal lawsuit against the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, alleging the warrant used against her was “erroneous” and claiming she had already been granted custody of her children with that charge dropped. She also alleged that Big Tigger received preferential treatment in the case due to a personal friendship with Fulton County Sheriff Pat Labat.
