Donald Trump lies A LOT, but his latest tall tale regarding 9/11 is not sitting well with Americans.
When it comes to Donald Trump, we have come to expect that he is incapable of telling the truth, so much in fact that it no longer surprises or shocks us when he says something blatantly false.
But tha’s not the case this time around.
During a recent White House address to commemorate the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, Trump used the moment to bring up his administration’s economic success (there is none), and, strangely, a new lie about being at Ground Zero that fateful day, claiming that he had to be rescued by firefighters before the towers fell on top of them.
“And I’ll never forget two firemen. We thought it was coming down on top of us, and two firemen, big, strong guys — and I’m not the smallest guy in the world — they grabbed me under the arm, said, ‘Got to get out of here!’ And they literally lifted me up.
“This is not easy to do. I’m big. They lifted me up and they started running with me. I said, ‘Fellas, I can run myself,’ but they were amazing. But they thought it was coming down. It didn’t come down,” he continued.
Aaron Rupar shared a clip of the moment, and a community note was added stating:
“Trump was miles from Ground Zero on 9/11, speaking by phone from his office. He visited the area days later. His story of being lifted from the rubble by firefighters first appeared in 2021 and lacks corroborating evidence.”
Bruh.
This Is Not The First Time Donald Trump Lied About 9/11
This is not the first time Orange Mussolini has lied about 9/11. During his first run for the White House, while at a campaign stop in New Hampshire, Trump claimed he heard a “screech” sound that alerted firefighters.
“I was there when we actually thought the U.S. Steel building was coming down and I’ll never forget that I was standing next to these two massive wonderful firemen and we heard a screech … and everybody thought that the U.S. Steel building was coming down and it was not so far from us. And these two guys there were massive guys, two really big — because I’m a big guy and they grabbed me. I must tell you honestly, I never knew I could run that fast,” Trump said at the time.
Trump has also claimed that he was near Ground Zero, but first responders have said they do not recall seeing the Orange Menace there.
But wait, there’s more.
Donald Trump also promised in 2001 that he would donate $10,000 to 9/11 charities but an audit revealed he made no such donations.
Not shocking at all.
In response to his latest lie social media has been dragging Trump for having the audacity to make up such a story.
No lies detected there.
Maybe we can blame this lie on his alleged dementia.
A popular Instagram account, EpistemMicCrisis, explains that these fantastical lies are nothing but confabulation, a symptom of frontotemporal dementia.
Well, that might be the case, but we won’t know until the White House finally tells the truth about Trump’s health.
