After yet another release, Drake finds himself back on top.
The OVO rapper is closing out the year by giving his fans exactly what they wanted. Not only did they get ICEMAN, but Drizzy also delivered three project in total, including HABIBTI and MAID OF HONOUR.
Recently, Drake released a short film reflecting on his life and teased a gang of unreleased songs. Once the tracks were played during FOMO, fans took to the internet demanding that he drop them. The Boy listened, and shortly after, released the deluxe edition of HABIBTI, adding four new songs to the original project.
The highly anticipated collaboration with Don Toliver, “Solar Eclipse,” made the deluxe, alongside “Quebec,” “Cold Shoulder,” and a part 2 of “Classic.”
Now, less than a month after dropping the deluxe, Drake has landed on the Billboard 200, moving 71,000 units in its first week. Combined with the original HABIBTI, the deluxe brings the project’s total to 553,000 units sold.
All four new tracks from the deluxe also cracked the Billboard Hot 100’s top 30, extending Drake’s record for the most Hot 100 entries in music history. With fans continuing to show up for every release, Drizzy is proving that even when he drops more music than expected, the demand for the next more never slows down.
