Keyshia Cole has fans expressing concern after viral videos showed the R&B songstress seemingly struggling through performances and turning one of her signature hits into an impromptu karaoke session, all while her romance with rapper Skrilla continues to attract attention.

On Monday, The Shade Room reported that the Grammy-nominated singer performed at Majic Under the Stars on Saturday, Oct. 24, at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, where she joined a lineup headlined by Babyface. However, it was her rendition of her 2007 hit “Heaven Sent” that sparked conversation online.
In a clip, Cole can be seen encouraging concertgoers to sing along as her track plays, rather than delivering the vocals herself.
“Can’t hear y’all,” Cole told the crowd. “I picked this out again. It’s my birthday, sing with me.”
The request came just over a week after the singer celebrated her 45th birthday on Oct. 15.
As the audience continued singing, Cole encouraged fans to keep singing for her despite her confidence in her own vocal ability.
“Y’all know I be singing, but come on,” she told the audience.
That moment circulated across social media around the same time as a clip from Cole’s performance for Texas Southern University homecoming, where she visibly struggled to duet with singer Joe.
The performance took place at Houston’s Bar 5015, where she was also spotted walking into the venue with the owners.

Fans Express Concern For Keyshia Cole Amid Romance With Rapper Skrilla
Some fans are expressing concern for Cole’s well-being amid the viral clips, and the conversation comes amid heightened attention surrounding her relationship with rapper Skrilla.
Skrilla, 27, who hails from Philadelphia’s Kensington neighborhood, an area he frequently refers to as “Zombieland,” rose to widespread prominence with his 2025 single “Doot Doot (6 7).” The track helped popularize the viral “6-7” phenomenon, which has since become an internet obsession.
Beyond that, he’s built his musical identity around gritty depictions of his upbringing and admitted previous use of drugs like nitrous oxide.
Now, his relationship with Cole is generating headlines of its own.
Keyshia, 45, recently shared an Instagram Story revealing that Skrilla had tattooed her name across his back.
“Ok!! Let that be known,” she captioned the photo.
Cole has not publicly addressed the latest criticism or concerns about her relationship, but she seems happy with her new man.
