Kanye West took over Houston on Halloween night, October 31, 2026, delivering a record-breaking concert at NRG Stadium in front of a reported 80,210 fans.
Having been there myself, I can say Halloween added an entirely different energy to the experience. Fans showed up in costumes, bringing a theatrical atmosphere to an event that already felt larger than life. The massive crowd reportedly broke the U.S. stadium attendance record for a rap concert, surpassing Ye’s previous mark of approximately 74,000 at SoFi Stadium earlier this year.

With an elaborate stage resembling Earth, massive visuals, lasers, and pyrotechnics, the production was a spectacle. But beyond the visuals, the music was the main attraction.

Ye delivered a journey through his catalog, mixing classics from his biggest albums with chart-topping singles, newer cuts, and deep dives that longtime fans could appreciate. From “Stronger” and “Gold Digger” to “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” and “Runaway,” the setlist reminded everyone just how extensive his musical legacy is.
The night also featured some memorable special guests. Playboi Carti joined Ye onstage, bringing an entirely different level of energy with performances of songs including “Carnival,” “Off the Grid,” and “FE!N.”

Ye’s daughter, North West, also made an appearance, performing alongside her father in one of the evening’s more personal moments. Seeing the two share the stage added another dimension to a show built around spectacle and nostalgia. What stood out to me was how Ye managed to connect different eras of his career in one performance. Whether you became a fan during “The College Dropout,” “Graduation,” “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy,” or his more recent releases, there was something in the setlist for you.
There was also plenty of speculation surrounding who else might appear. Drake and Houston’s own Travis Scott were both in town, and their presence fueled rumors that one or both might join Ye onstage. The two were spotted at the Houston Rockets game earlier that evening, adding to the anticipation surrounding potential surprise performances.

Ultimately, neither Drake nor Travis Scott performed, but that didn’t take away from what was already a historic night. Between the Halloween costumes, the massive crowd, the surprise appearances, and a setlist spanning more than two decades of music, Ye delivered a concert that felt like both a celebration of his career and a reminder of his impact on Hip-Hop. For those of us who experienced it in person, it was one of those Houston concert nights that won’t soon be forgotten.
