Aht Aht! Karen Huger is not letting an old “beat up” comment stir up any new drama with Gizelle Bryant. During Sunday’s episode of The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Roaring 20th special on Aug. 31, Bryant welcomed NeNe Leakes back into the Bravo universe but also used the moment to revisit some unfinished business. While Bryant said she has always “given NeNe her flowers,” she revealed that Leakes once made a surprising comment about her to Huger —telling the Grande Dame to “beat up” Gizelle.
Naturally, that little tidbit made its way back to Huger. But if anyone was expecting The Real Housewives of Potomac star to fan the flames, think again. The 63-year-old quickly made it clear that she never took Leakes’ comment seriously and had no interest in turning a joke into a Housewives feud. On Sunday, Huger took to Instagram to share receipts from her 2024 interaction with Leakes, giving fans a little more context about what actually went down.
“2024*** Having a time with my girl @neneleakes and my team. That’s the clarification. Moving on,” she wrote alongside a video shared to her Instagram Story showing her greeting Leakes.
And because one receipt is never quite enough in Housewives land, Huger followed it up with another. In a second slide, the Grande Dame shared a photo of herself smiling with singer Samantha Mumba, noting that she was “hanging out” with the songstress on the same evening Leakes allegedly told her to “beat up” Gizelle.
Video of the interaction, shared by NoChaser TV, shows Huger quickly brushing off the remark from Leakes, responding simply:
“I adore her, but no!”
NeNe Leakes also clarified on Sunday’s RHUGT episode that she was just drinking and “talking s–t” with Karen Huger, clarifying that there were no hard feelings or genuine malice behind her comment. So, moving right along!
Huger’s latest clarification comes just weeks before her return to The Real Housewives of Potomac. Bravo announced in April that production for the series was in “full bloom” with Huger set to return for Season 11, which premieres Oct. 5.
Huger originally stepped away from the series and did not attend the Season 9 reunion in January 2025 while entering a private recovery program following her legal troubles stemming from her 2024 DUI conviction.
In February 2025, a judge sentenced Huger to two years in prison, with one year suspended, meaning she was ordered to serve one year behind bars followed by five years of probation. After serving six months at the Montgomery County Detention Center in Maryland, Huger was released early on Sept. 2, 2025.
Now, the Grande Dame is officially back in the Bravo mix and we can’t wait for her return.

Huger won’t be the only familiar face making her way back to Potomac. Gizelle’s Reasonably Shady co-host and former RHOP star Robyn Dixon will return for Season 11 as a friend of the cast.
Dixon was part of The Real Housewives of Potomac from its first season alongside Gizelle, Karen and Ashley Darby. During her run, viewers followed her friendships, family life and complicated relationship with Juan Dixon. The couple eventually reconciled and remarried during her time on the series.
Dixon also expanded her career beyond reality TV, launching her hat line and co-hosting the Reasonably Shady podcast with Bryant. She departed RHOP after Season 8.
The upcoming season will feature returning Housewives Karen Huger, Gizelle Bryant along with Ashley Darby, Wendy Osefo, Stacey Rusch and Tia Glover. And with Karen, Gizelle and Robyn back in the friend circle, it looks like Potomac is gearing up for an exciting season.
