For years now, we’ve seen many rappers take a crack at designing sneakers, apparel, and even automobiles. But are we now entering an era where MC’s take on home decor? It certainly seems that way.
According to HighSnobiety, the high-end French furniture brand Paulin, Paulin, Paulin is launching a new “DroPPP” collaboration project, in which artists reimagine some of the company’s classic furniture pieces. The first artist to kick off the new initiative is none other than San Fran’s Larry June. The man who already has a song dubbed “Expensive Couches” was tapped to remix Paulin’s classic 1967 tongue chair that was all the rage in a year that boasted “the summer of love” in San Francisco and saw the Civil Rights Movement continue to make strides while others across the country took to the streets to protest the war in Vietnam.
All these decades later, June is breathing new life into the classic chair at a time when New York lived its greatest summer ever (thanks, Knicks), civil rights are being systematically dismantled by a regressive administration, and people across the country continue to protest the genocide in Gaza and illegal war in Iran.
What a time to be alive.

June’s signature, limited-edition take on Paulin’s 1967 Tongue Chair wears the rapper’s signature bright orange hue but is otherwise unchanged. Why fix what ain’t broken? All June did was make a tasteful chair more tasteful (or at least more fun).
Symbolic of June’s commitment to, well, himself, the vibrant orange previously came to define his Midnight Organic garments and adidas sneaker collaborations, even serving as the namesake behind a bunch of his songs, EPs, and albums.
But in true June fashion — remember this is the man whose daily driver is a McLaren — his biggest-ever foray with this inimitable hue comes in the form of €4,000 tongue-shaped chair.
Yeah, we’re not sure the average person is willing to drop $4,550 on a single orange tongue chair (maybe a rich Knicks fan like Tracy Morgan), but hey, if you can wing that, more power to you.
