The weather might be getting colder, but Megan Thee Stallion’s latest installment in her freestyle series as her alter ego Tina Snow, entitled “Thin Ice” raised the temperature quite a bit after its release on Tuesday (October 20). It’s also left fans speculating on how close she is to dropping a new album.
The Buddha Bless-produced track, starts off with a slow build as it utilizes a sample from rock band Limp Bizkit’s 1999 hit “Break Stuff”. Lead singer Fred Durst’s vocals set the tone: “I think you better quit talkin’ that s–t/ It’s all about the he says, she says bulls–t.”
The video sees Megan Thee Stallion flexing while wearing a form-fitting bodysuit, and wearing a striking platinum hairdo and grills to match. She kicks off the freestyle sharply: “I’m back in that mode again/I’m outside f—— these hoes again/I’m viral as f—-/I bet you its Tina whenever you scroll again.”
Megan Thee Stallion continues to deliver the freestyle, bouncing around an abandoned warehouse serving as the backdrop to the freestyle, adding her signature twerking throughout to spice up the visuals.
The “Thin Ice” freestyle gained heavy acclaim online, notably from her peers in the industry. “Talk yo s–t verse killer!”, wrote Three 6 Mafia rapper Juicy J approvingly. Flo Milli also chimed in with support, while singer Kehlani gushed over the track: “YOU OUTTA CONTROL.”
The song and video is the latest drop in the Tina Tuesdays Freestyle series, coming shortly after “Is You Cool?” was released earlier in the month featuring the Houston, Texas native delivering rhymes in the midst of a blizzard. Fans have begun to speculate if her highly anticipated Act III album is about to be released soon.
The Grammy Award winner made a significant impact with the release of her last album, Megan, in 2024. It would debut at number 3 on the Billboard 200 chart, a strong showing with it being her first album on her own indpendent label Hot Girl Productions.
Megan Thee Stallion is making sure the month is one to remember, as she accomplished childhood dream of hers by making her debut walking the runway in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. She also performed during the event, which was held on Sunday (October 18).
