Rick Ross has reportedly been arrested in Miami-Dade County on Thursday, according to reports.
Legal records show the Port of Miami rapper was booked around 6 a.m. on charges of battery and battery by strangulation. The arrest follows allegations from Ross’ ex-girlfriend, Jazzma Kendrick, who accused the rapper of physically abusing her.
Kendrick recently responded to a fan online who commented on her appearance, writing, “I’m seeing what Ross is seeing.” She replied, “He saw a punching bag.”
She also shared a photo of her injured mouth, captioning the post, “the day Rick busted my lip.”
Kendrick later offered advice to women who may be experiencing similar situations, encouraging them not to remain in relationships with partners who physically abuse them.
“I don’t know a lot of things, but I do know that a man that puts his hands on me, is a man that never loved me and never will. It’s always good until it isn’t. If a man hits you one time, he will do it again. Don’t give him the opportunity. Value your life and leave.”
In addition to his current legal troubles, Ross is also facing a $261,000 lawsuit filed by a promoter in Charlotte over his recent Port of Miami 20th Anniversary Orchestra Tour.
The promoter reportedly claims Ross is responsible for covering expenses and lost profits associated with the tour stops in Greensboro and Charlotte.
