Dr. Wendy Osefo and her husband, Eddie Osefo, are speaking out about the allegations of insurance fraud that led to their arrests in October 2025. During the Season 11 premiere of The Real Housewives of Potomac, the couple opened up about the ongoing legal battle, the strain it has placed on their marriage, and their determination to clear their names.
Wendy and Eddie were indicted and arrested in October 2025 on 16 felony fraud charges stemming from allegations that they falsely reported a 2024 burglary at their Maryland home to obtain an insurance payout. Both have vehemently denied any wrongdoing.
During the Oct. 11 episode, Wendy told a producer that she is focused on proving her innocence as public scrutiny continues to grow around the case. Notably, a few fans called out the reality TV star for driving an expensive G-Wagon on Sunday’s episode, with some arguing that it wasn’t a good look amid the ongoing case.
“I’m still trying to process everything that has happened,” Wendy, 42, told a RHOP producer during the Oct. 11 episode, according to Bravo. “There’s been so many things written about me, written about Eddie, written about our marriage, written about this case. People are taking it as if it’s Bible, without ever being convicted of anything.”
As previously reported, the couple came under investigation after authorities accused them of orchestrating a burglary at their Finksburg, Maryland, home in April 2024. Wendy and Eddie reported that approximately $450,000 worth of designer handbags and jewelry had been stolen while they were vacationing in Jamaica. Investigators later alleged that some of the items included in the insurance claim had previously been returned for refunds. Following their October 2025 arrests, the couple was released on bond.
Wendy has also reflected on how dramatically the allegations have affected her personal and professional life. According to Us Weekly, the reality star said the situation has changed her world “completely.”
“To see all of that being wiped away, it is something that I think of every single day. Everything happened at what I thought was the height of my career, and then I lost it all.”
Eddie, 42, acknowledged the uncertainty surrounding their legal situation and the lengthy process of navigating the case.
“What this whole situation has taught me is you just never know what tomorrow will bring. I don’t want to say we’re in the dark, but we’ve just been going through the process. The process takes a freaking long time.”

During Sunday’s Season 11 premiere, Wendy also revealed that she and Eddie have separate legal teams as they continue to navigate the case. The legal challenges, she admitted, have taken a significant toll on their relationship.
“I think this has definitely been the darkest time in our marriage,” Wendy told her husband during the premiere. “I had moments where I didn’t even want to talk to you. It’s definitely been trying. … Some days I’m not fooling with you at all.”
Eddie added that although fighting the case has been tough, he and Wendy have been actively working to repair their relationship amid the ongoing turmoil, adding:
“I feel we’re rebuilding trust with each other.”
The couple previously revisited the emotional aftermath of their arrests during the Season 10 reunion in February 2026. Footage filmed approximately one week after their arrests showed Wendy describing the experience as a “nightmare” before recounting the night that she and Eddie were taken into custody.
“Never in my wildest dreams did I think it would lead to us being taken away in handcuffs,” she tearfully told her husband of 15 years. “It’s so crazy. It feels like a bad dream. … I was so scared.”
Eddie also became emotional as he recalled seeing Wendy in a holding cell speaking with his sister. He remembered hearing Wendy talk to their daughter, Kamrynn Kapri Osefo, who was happy to hear her mother’s voice. The moment was particularly painful as the couple faced the challenge of explaining the frightening situation to their children.
“I didn’t know if I was going to see her tomorrow. I was just worried about the kids. I was so scared for them,” Wendy cried.
Here’s what attorney Laura Coates thinks about Wendy and Eddie Osefo’s fraud case.
Attorney and legal analyst Laura Coates weighed in on the controversy surrounding Wendy and Eddie Osefo during Sunday’s episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. When asked if she thought it was a good move for the married couple to have separate legal teams handling the case, Coates said that when she heard the news, she said, “That’s not good.”
She continued:
“It’s because they don’t have a joint defense… they’re not going to be a united front. And sometimes lawyers want their clients separated so they can raise whatever defense or allegations against the other person that they see fit.”
She added:
“Because remember, if they each have a lawyer, then they’re fighting for that person and everything else damned, right? And so I kind of thought, oh wow. Again, it’s a good thing for them to have that cuz they want to have compartmentalized marriage and then of course what’s going on the legal stuff, but it wasn’t a united front any longer.”
As their legal battle continues, Wendy and Eddie face the possibility of up to 15 years in prison if convicted, according to Wendy’s RHOP Season 10 end card. For now, the couple remains focused on navigating the legal process while dealing with the personal and professional consequences of the allegations.
