The Real Housewives of Potomac are putting a certain couple’s marital matters under the microscope, and BOSSIP’s got your exclusive first look at Wendy Osefo questioning Tia Glover and her husband, Rob, about his headline-making dating app scandal.
In a clip from Sunday’s episode of the Bravo reality series, Wendy presses the couple about their marriage after revelations that Rob’s photos surfaced on a dating app. But when Tia insists that the controversy isn’t the most difficult thing they’ve experienced together, Wendy wonders just how much more there is to the story.
As previously reported, Tia’s marriage has become a major topic of conversation this season after Rob confirmed that he had a dating app, and the controversy sparked questions about their relationship.
Now, with the couple sitting down alongside their fellow Potomac personalities, Wendy is looking for answers about how they’re navigating the fallout.
“I feel like all of us are just in a very interesting place in our relationship,” says Wendy.
“I think if you’re married for long enough, something’s going to happen,” says Tia.
Wendy then asks the question that’s seemingly on everyone’s mind.
“So is what you guys are going through now, is this the darkest moment for you guys?”
Surprisingly, Tia doesn’t think so.
“Actually, I actually don’t think so,” she responds, before turning to Rob for his perspective.
Rob suggests that the difficulties of marriage extend beyond any single controversy.
“What you’re asking is how tough does marriage get? There’s a lot of pieces to why, you know, being together is difficult.”
When Wendy presses them about whether the dating app scandal represents their lowest point, Rob maintains that it doesn’t.
“No,” he responds.
That answer leaves Wendy visibly perplexed in a confessional.
“Am I missing something? If this ain’t the darkest time, then what the hell is?”
In a candid response, Tia questions whether the public embarrassment surrounding the dating app allegations should outweigh every other challenge she and her hubby have experienced.
“Are pictures on the internet going to be the darkest moment of my life? I’d be lying if I said yes,” she says in a confessional.
Tia continues,
It’s all in how you see life, right? Marriages go through things. Sometimes it’s infidelity.”
That last comment prompts an immediate follow-up.
“Is there infidelity?” Wendy asks.
Tia’s answer makes it clear that she’s relying on what her husband has told her.
“From what he says, no,” she responds.
She then shares Rob’s explanation for the situation, suggesting that loneliness played a role in the controversy.
“From what I was told, it was like I was feeling lonely, but nothing came out of it,” Tia explains.
Wendy continues to press Tia about her marriage, pointing to the trips she’s taken without her husband, Rob
“I noticed that you travel a lot, and you travel a lot without Rob,” comes the question, before Tia pushes back on the suggestion that her travel habits indicate anything about her relationship.
Tia explains that she recently visited London with her mother and traveled to Nigeria for 10 days while her children were in school.
The exchange leaves Tia feeling that the conversation has shifted away from the original subject.
In a confessional, she accuses her fellow housewives of using questions to avoid answering uncomfortable ones.
“In this group, we love to ask questions more than we love to give answers,” Tia says. “It’s all about deflection. Let’s forget what’s going on with me here. It’s very much like a checkmate game.”
