Superstar rapper Drake is officially 40, and he celebrated his birthday in New York City over the past weekend. A key part of the festivities was a custom necklace featuring a photo of his parents, Sandi and Dennis Graham.
Drake was spotted wearing the custom necklace from Anomaly Relic founder Karen Yost while out and about. It was created after a “personalized request” from Drake’s chief stylist, Juliet Charlotte. Yost shared more details in an Instagram post.
“The centerpiece features a photograph of his mother and father back in the day,” Yost wrote in the post, which gave viewers a detailed look at the process. “A family portrait, 14k gold and diamonds, and a design worth passing down to his own son. Exactly the kind of jewelry I make.”
Drake’s necklace has several charms attached, much like the original, including a couple reading “#1 Dad” and “Super Lady”. Yost mentioned that she took Drake’s hand-crafted necklace “out for a spin” before presenting it to the Canadian star.
Anomaly Relic is a one-person fine jewelry artisan based in New York City. “I use real antique history as raw materials and make something that feels alive and relevant now,” she writes on her website.
For the man who dubbed himself “October’s Very Own”, the birthday celebrations come as he’s been steadily giving fans something new. Earlier this year, he released three new albums, Iceman, Maid of Honor, and Habibti, along with a short film, FOMO. Those projects have led to him seeing a resurgence in 2026.
As for the birthday celebrations, they were reportedly expensive and meticulously planned. According to PEOPLE, the festivities included a party at Casa Cipriani on October 23, which one guest described as “so elegant, over the top and expensive.” The “Nice For What” artist gave out cash prizes ranging from $10,000 to one person getting a million dollars.
Drake also celebrated a milestone last Friday, as the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) gave him 30 new certifications, including becoming the first artist to surpass 350 million RIAA-certified units.
