The Internet is (STILL) abuzz over Angel Victoria Murdock, the alleged academic flimflamster and former Temptation Island participant whose dubious Duke dealings, purported PA pursuits, and degree-related deception have sparked a deluge of digital discourse.
Now, after Duke University’s Physician Assistant program set the record straight that Murdock was absolutely not a Duke PA student, despite TikToks showing her suited in scrubs, pulling up to “campus,” and even donning a graduation gown, there’s evennnnn more alleged academic absurdity to unpack.
According to Inc, the allegations against Murdock gained traction after a Reddit thread went viral, prompting a Duke PA program graduate from the class of 2026, Kiera Brown, to speak out. Brown released an eight-minute video claiming Murdock only ever shared one photo from inside the program’s academic building, and that the students visible in that photo were actually from a class years above Brown’s own.
Brown didn’t hold back in her assessment, alleging that Murdock “found somebody’s old story post, screenshotted it, made it seem like she was in the building.” She also pointed out that documentation and photos from her actual graduating class show no evidence that Murdock was ever enrolled, calling the situation “creepy.”
According to TheShadeRoom, none of the 89 students in Murdock’s supposed graduating class recalled seeing her on campus, in class, or at any social events throughout the two-year program. She also didn’t appear in the official class photo, her graduation gown reportedly featured incorrect colors, her name wasn’t called during the ceremony, and she isn’t listed in the National Commission on Certification of PAs database.
Duke’s PA Program Responds To The Claims
When reached directly for comment, Duke Health gave a statement saying;
“We can find no record of a student by the name of Angel Murdock having applied to or attended the Duke Physician Assistant Program.”
The statement also emphasized the significance of actually graduating from the program, noting Duke’s status as the founder of the profession itself.
Separately, questions have also emerged about her real estate career, with neither North Carolina nor Georgia showing her listed in their licensed realtor databases, despite her claiming to hold licenses in both states.
David Markowitz, an associate professor at Michigan State University who studies social and psychological deception, told Inc that the positive attention Murdock likely received played a role in sustaining the alleged fabrication.
“It is possible that this identity would attract more attention and praise than a less prestigious identity,” he said, adding that people who receive validation for deceptive claims often interpret that response as permission to keep going.
Markowitz also raised concerns about the broader impact of someone posing as a medical professional, noting it could deepen existing public distrust in the healthcare field. As for legal consequences, TMZ reported that impersonating a real estate broker could carry criminal penalties in both North Carolina and Georgia, though no formal investigation has been opened at this time.
Murdock has not addressed the allegations publicly.
