Havoc Reveals Origin Of 2Pac’s ‘Hit Em Up’ Diss Track

Havoc has finally revealed the origin of 2Pac‘s disses aimed towards Mobb Deep on his legendary diss track “Hit Em Up”.

Speaking on Drink Champs, the New Yorker explained that ‘Pac thought he had been slighted by the duo.

He said: “I believe it was a combo of things. On ‘Survival of the Fittest,’ we [rapped], ‘Thug life, we still livin’ it.’ At the time, [2pac] had an article in Vibe magazine when he was like, ‘I don’t want to do this thug shit anymore.’ So he probably thought we were like, ‘Thug life, we still living it, fuck what he’s doin’.’ It piled up on ‘L.A., L.A.’ and it was like, fuck these n-ggas.”

On “Hit Em Up”, 2Pac saved one of his most brutal lines for Mobb Deep’s Prodigy, with him rapping: “Oh yeah, Mobb Deep, huh, you wanna fuck with us? /You lil’ young-ass motherfuckers / Don’t one of you n-ggas got sickle-cell or somethin?”

The legendary rapper would later die of complications caused by the disease in 2017.

2Pac’s murder suspect, Keefe D, was recently sentenced for his role in a jail fight which took place while awaiting trial for the late rapper’s killing.

Keefe D was sentenced to between 16 and 40 months behind bars over the fight.

During the trial, Keefe D had said that he had done nothing wrong: “I was attacked. It was wrong, I know not to fight in the jail. The guy attacked me.”

He also told the court: “My parents brought me up to protect myself, and that’s all I was doing, protecting myself, and this is totally wrong, man.”

As Keefe D will remain in jail until the 2Pac trial, it is likely he will serve the majority of his sentence while being held without bail with proceedings not scheduled to start until February.

Keefe D has repeatedly attempted to get the charges against him for killing 2Pac dropped.

In a recent motion to dismiss the case, Keefe D argues there is a lack of evidence against him.

The filing states: “This prosecution has captured worldwide attention. The global public is watching how Nevada upholds due process, fairness, and the rule of law in one of the most closely scrutinized criminal proceedings in recent memory.”

It adds: “Nevada law is unambiguous: a conviction cannot rest solely on an uncorroborated extrajudicial statement. The State has offered nothing to corroborate the trustworthiness of Mr. Davis’s alleged statements, and nothing independently connecting him to the murder itself.”
