JAY-Z and Dame Dash will never be able to mend their relationship according to former Roc-A-Fella Records rapper, Memphis Bleek.
Speaking on Drink Champs, Bleek made it clear that he did not expect the former friends and business partners to mend fences given Dame’s public comments about Jay.
He said: “I feel like a line was crossed, man. N-ggas crossed a line that’s no return, bro. Them Art of Dialogue interviews—I don’t know how much n-ggas get paid for that shit or whatever, but it’s like when you speak on personal issues, a man’s kids, a man’s integrity. “
Bleek continued: “N-ggas going through cases and shit, and you speaking on that. It’s no return from that, bro. That’s the button. How do you even talk to a n-gga about a n-gga who talked about him like that? I don’t even know how to bring that conversation up to a man that’s been ridiculed and dragged through the media by a n-gga that you called your bro, that would question your integrity. How do you even bring that up?”
Dash has taken his own shots at Bleek in recent times, claiming JAY-Z was his ghostwriter.
Speaking to The Art of Dialogue, Dash criticized Bleek’s work ethic and alleged that Hov had to step up and pen some tracks for him.
“I don’t think Bleek wanted to take over [Roc-A-Fella]. I don’t think he had the ability to,” he said. “Jay was writing a lot of his rhymes. So if Jay retired, that meant he was out of business as well.”
He added: “Ask Bleek about it. I can understand Bleek’s loyalty to Jay because he had Jay as a ghostwriter.”
The Harlem-bred mogul later said: “I probably shouldn’t have said that but he’s been talking about me lately. I didn’t think it was a secret. I thought everybody knew.”
Turning his attention to Bleek’s work ethic, Dame claimed: “I’ve always had to push Bleek to put an album out. I personally think I wanted more for Bleek than Bleek wanted for himself.
“I would argue with him about, ‘Do your own show. Stop depending on this dude to do everything for you. You gotta do it on your own.’”
