Lil Yachty Thanks Tyler, The Creator For Being A Mentor

Lil Yachty has paid tribute to Tyler, The Creator for being a mentor to him.

On his Instagram, Yachty said of the Odd Future founder: “Last leg of this tour for me and I just want to take the time to thank you for your friendship, thanking you for giving me the praises i needed to push me on and holding me accountable when i do some / ignorant shit. All in all, i’m grateful.”

He added: “1 of the few mentors i have, always held me accountable, always challenged me,” wrote Yachty. “Forever grateful. Young men need mentors. Need a line of proper guidance. Thanks Tyyytyyy.”

The two are currently on tour together as Tyler takes his Chromakopia album across North America.

Yachty recently came under fire for teasing a new song which makes reference to the death of George Floyd.

On a stream with Plaqueboymax, Yachty played an unreleased track from an upcoming project with the song including the line: “Put my knee up on her neck, I went George Floyd.”

The line did not go over well with fans nor NBA legend Stephen Jackson, who grew up with Floyd in Houston.

In a social media video, Jackson tore into Yachty, saying: “Lil Yachty, bro. You been wack, my n-gga. But you think you saying George Floyd name, and trying to use his name in a bar, that’s gonna make people like your wack-ass music, my n-gga? That shit weak. Y’all the only era that feel like demeaning the dead and saying that shit is cool, my n-gga. It ain’t.

He added: “Don’t ever say his name, bro. None of ya’ll knew G, nothing about him. But y’all wanna say his name for clout. That’s some weak-ass shit, Yachty. Let somebody die in your family, we gonna do a whole skit about it. And see how funny it is, bro. Cut that shit out.”

The rapper was also recently called out by his former friend and collaborator Karrahbooo over his alleged treatment of women.

In a series of posts on social media, Karrahbooo blasted Yachty for how he has treated her and kept her locked into a record deal.

She wrote:  “U have a daughter and u treating women like this is mindblowing like I know u never see her but still that doesn’t make sense how evil this man is to women (not just me).”
