Weeks after 50 Cent caught backlash for performing at Donald Trump Jr.’s elites exclusive Executive Branch club for what we assume was a hefty bag, the Queens rapper showed it isn’t always about the money and took his show on the road to bless Indiana Pacers star point guard, Tyrese Haliburton, with a private performance as well – for free.
In a recent interview with Speedy Morman, the two-time NBA All-Star revealed that he had a hard time booking a performer for his wedding this past August when he tied the knot with Jade Jones. After finding out the rates for some of today’s big-name artists (one unnamed rapper wanted $750,000 for the night), Tyrese was hesitant about pulling the trigger. Even with an annual salary of $48 million, the prices today’s artists were charging seemed pretty steep to the NBA star.
“I was shocked. I was like, ‘That’s not happening. There’s no chance,’” he said. Luckily for him, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson was willing to perform at his wedding for an astounding Free 99. A grateful Haliburton said that after 50 said he’d perform for free, he “took care of his accommodations and everything. His love is just, like, that’s family. So forever I got his back forever for that.”
Looks like 50 Cent’s Sire Spirits company signing a multi-year deal with the Indiana Pacers really came in clutch for Tyrese Haliburton.
