- While some felt this was the right moment for Cardi B to extend an olive branch and credit Nicki Minaj with influencing her rap aspirations, Cardi stood by Bronx business and completely omitted the Queens rapper from her list.
- Though unfortunately for her, no matter what she does or says going forward, Nicki Minaj fans will always somehow connect her career moves to their favorite Barbz.

Just because it’s been a minute since Cardi B and Nicki Minaj traded barbs doesn’t mean they’ve made amends; recently, Cardi B reminded the world that, despite the silence, no love is lost between the two biggest female rappers in the game.
On Wednesday (Oct. 21), Cardi B took to X Spaces to interact with fans and address critics over the list of personal influencers she gave The New York Times. While she credited Madonna, Lil Kim, and Foxy Brown with helping shape her style and persona, many fans pointed out that she left out Nicki Minaj, who was huge when Cardi B was starting her rap career.
While some felt this was the right moment for Cardi B to extend an olive branch and credit Nicki Minaj with influencing her rap aspirations, Cardi stood by Bronx business and completely omitted the Queens rapper from her list. Even admitting she knew Foxy didn’t like her personally, Cardi said she added her to the list because she used to listen to her when she was younger.
Nicki, on the other hand, Mrs. B didn’t feel the need to include her on her list, saying, “I am a New York hood b*tch,” before going on to say, “If you’re imitating other b*tches, you’re not gonna make it. If you imitate other b*tches’ mannerisms, you’re not gonna make it because you’re not being yourself. So me making it, it was because I’m being myself. There’s nobody I ever wanna be. I became famous being Cardi B.”
Well, she’s not wrong. Though unfortunately for her, no matter what she does or says going forward, Nicki Minaj fans will always somehow connect her career moves to their favorite Barbz. That’s just how the game goes these days. Luckily for Cardi, though, MAGA country could care less about Nicki Minaj no matter how much she endears herself to Trump world. If they did, that would’ve been a whole other world of online harassment. Just sayin.’
