The latest episode of Live Wire features rapper Big Boss Vette, sitting down for an exclusive conversation.

The St. Louis rapper made her debut at the ONE Yard HBU Tour stop at Clark Atlanta University, where she made it clear that she’s an advocate for never giving up when facing adversity. Well-respected Hip-Hop manager ATL Snake gave Vette her flowers, saying, “Vette is a very genuine person, very organic, she listens.”

Similar to Snake, many others in the industry has given the Pretty Girls Walk rapper her props. However, in the midst of her breakthrough in the game, Vette faced a major obstacle. Big Boss Vette’s world came to a pause when she found out she had stage 4 cancer.

“It took 4 doctors to find out I had stage 4 cancer. I just had this strong will to live, I just knew my time wasn’t over. God ain’t bring me this far to bring me this far.”

Vette givers her tribe credit for uplifting her during some of the darkest times. Although Big Boss Vette has gone through hard times, she still doesn’t let that affect the fun and energy in her music.

“I still make my fun, turn up music, but I also have a story to tell as well.”

Big Boss Vette sat down with Rodney Rikai before her ONE Yard performance and shared how she turned her hobby of making music into a legitimate business.

“When I got my first show booking, it was in the Carolina’s and i’m from St. Louis. It was 14 hours away, and the show was for $700. I had straight tunnel vision.”
